Übercart might prevent Imagecache caching

I am not completely sure if Ubercart is the culprit, but have a look at the following issue:

Two users who use Ubercart experience the problem that images cannot be cached by imagechache when using ubercart. Is this a known issue and maybe solved in a newer version?

Curious... I'm really not sure, unfortunately. I had issues on the Livetest for a while and it turned out to be folder permissions for some reason. Puzzled But also I'm not even sure if it's possible to use 2.x without difficulty with Ubercart. We still recommend 1.x and folks diving into 2.x may have other installation difficulties.
