Under the product setting, there is an option:
"Enable Add to cart forms in product node teasers."
When I uncheck it, the "Add to Cart" link still appears on the grid view of products.

The "grid view of products" doesn't show product teasers. Teasers are used on the default home page ( /node ) and in RSS feeds. If you want to change the display of the products in the grid view, use admin/store/settings/catalog/edit/grid
